Quality Assurance Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Manages quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures as they relate to the Corporate Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Validates adherence to documented processes and ensures that company processes meet the certification requirements of ISO 9001 and AS9100
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
  • Develops product and process quality assurance plans by identifying critical control points and preventative measures to prevent defects for our products; whether produced internally or externally
  • Establishes and drives effective implementation of in-process product inspection standards
  • Devises testing methods and procedures
  • Enforces quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends via six sigma and statistical process control techniques.
  • Completes QA operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
  • Coaching, counseling, and mentoring QA staff members
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Engineering field
  • At least 8 years of Management level experience in a Manufacturing Quality role
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2008/2015 and AS9100c/d requirements
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma concepts and techniques
  • Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and customers
  • Experience in quality system audits
  • Must be well versed in the latest Quality Assurance techniques and the ability to develop and implement tactical and strategic plans to drive improvement in quality and consistency
  • Must have leadership skills and experience to thoroughly develop and challenge the organization to achieve high performance
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to directly interface with customers on both a tactical and strategic basis
  • Must have the innate ability to take complex situations and simplify them for presentation and training of hourly workers, as well as senior management
  • Willingness to travel when required
